At WAVE ~ A Derrius Wolf Foundation, we offer a range of programs to support our community, including financial literacy, homeownership, life skills, entrepreneurship, faith-based initiatives, workforce & economic development. Our programs are designed to meet the unique needs of each individual or family we serve. We also mentor young adults in various ways to help assist them with, not only choosing the right path for themselves, but most importantly give the encouragement needed to Stay the Course!!
Over the years, we have helped countless individuals and families overcome financial, medical, and social challenges. Our success stories are a testament to the impact of our programs and the dedication of our team and supporters. Our founder is a proud supporter of Jean Ribault High School where she serves as the CEO of the Jean Ribault High School Booster Club. Through this partnership she works with the Athletic Department & Student Activities to plan various school events including the infamous annual NW Classic. This is a friendly football rivalry played against their sister school William M Raines High School. This event hosts over 20,000 attendees annually! Help us to be able to continue to pour into our community schools.
We are proud to partner with the Jacksonville Housing Authority to educate & promote homeownership. We also partner with Zee Luxe Realty to provide property management services and assist individuals with finding affordable housing. We host workshops where we provide financial & credit counseling which helps prepare individuals to be in the position to purchase a home.
Derrius, Dee as we called him, had a longtime dream of serving his community ever since the age of 5 when he declared that he would be a "Ranger" as he affectionately called Florida Highway Patrolmen. He was always loving and willing to help anyone. He graduated high school in 2013 & enrolled in Florida Gulf Coast University's Corrections Program.
In 2015 Derrius became a Corrections Officer with the State of Florida. Late October 2016 he was selected to be a Police Officer with Zephyrhills Police Department further achieving his goal!! He was set to start mid November 2016. Unfortunately, on November 8, 2016 he was in a fatal car accident leaving work.
On November 8, 2016, Derrius was in a fatal car accident. He was still in uniform. His death impacted everyone who knew him from his schoolmates, coworkers & of course our family. Our founder prayed and asked God what HE wanted her to do with losing her oldest son, her gentle giant. The answer was to continue to focus on helping her community and to be of service to others just as she'd taught Derrius to do. This is why we now operate as WAVE ~ A Derrius Wolf Foundation. This is her way of carrying his name on through the service that we provide for others.
